The West Point Fire Protection District was established to provide fire protection and life safety services within the District boundaries as defined by the County of Calaveras. The District operates under the statutory authority of the California Health and Safety Code, Division 12, Part 2.7, known as the Fire Protection District Law of 1987, as amended.
